Joan Cravey – 2006
Current Chairwoman on SouthCrest Financial Group and SouthCrest Bank Boards of Directors since 2011 and member since 2006.
Robert D. Baker – 2012
Mr. Baker is the owner of Duffey Southeast, a construction company specializing in data and telecom related projects and healthcare projects. He holds professional engineer licenses in the states of Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida.
Daniel G. Broos - 2016
Mr. Broos is the founder and managing member of Brighton Partners, an Atlanta based private equity firm targeting small businesses with $10 million to $50 million of revenue. The firm makes control equity investments, in partnership with management, in distribution and service companies with significant potential for long-term growth. Before founding Brighton Partners in 2003, he developed his operations expertise with Booz-Allen & Hamilton and Galbreath & Company, among other companies. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
George T. Hovis - 2016
George is the founder and president of Hovis Homes, Inc. and has been involved in land development and construction in the Atlanta Market for more than 35 years. George is a graduate of the University of Georgia and has served previously on the boards of three banking companies. George has a stellar track record of strategically and profitably operating real estate companies through the ups and downs of the economy. His deep market knowledge, dependable vision and sharp strategic focus will be key elements as the banking company achieves its growth and expansion objectives. George and Brian D. Schmitt, President and CEO of SouthCrest Financial Group, have had a business relationship since 1990.
Michael D. McRae – 2004
Mr. McRae is an attorney with the firm of McRae, Stegall, Peek, Harman, Smith and Manning, LLP, starting with the firm in 1999. He has also served as the City Attorney for the cities of Cedartown, GA and Rockmart, GA for over 20 years and has been a frequent lecturer in the area of municipal law, especially regarding ethics in government.
Tony Scavuzzo – 2013
Mr. Scavuzzo is a Principal at Castle Creek Capital which he joined in 2009. In addition to SouthCrest, Mr. Scavuzzo works with the boards of directors for Eastern Virginia Bankshares, Anchor BanCorp Wisconsin, and MBT Financial. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as a corporate financial analyst with MB Financial Bank in Chicago where he was responsible for the identification and evaluation of merger and acquisition opportunities and capital investment strategy for the Bank's executive team. Previously, he worked in the Bank's asset/liability management function where he provided analytical support for balance sheet strategy and managed the Bank's investment portfolio.
Harold W. Wyatt, III – 2010
Mr. Wyatt is the owner of Wyatt Realty Company, LLC and Wyatt Capital, LLC, specializing in acquiring undervalued real estate assets located in the southeastern U.S. From 2000-2006, he was a Vice President and top producer of Carter & Associates, at the time the largest privately held commercial real estate firm in the southeast. Mr. Wyatt currently serves as the Vice Chairman on SouthCrest Financial Group and SouthCrest Bank Boards of Directors.

Brian D. Schmitt, President & CEO
With more than 30 years in strategic leadership positions that resulted in growth in multiple digits for several banking and financial services firms, Brian was named President, CEO and a Director of SouthCrest Financial Group Inc. and SouthCrest Bank NA in August, 2016. Brian is a well-known, respected and experienced banker with a proven history of start-up, growth, consolidation and sale of financial institutions. Brian was formerly Executive Vice President, Atlanta Market CEO and Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at HeritageBank of the South in Norcross, GA. Prior to that, Brian was President and CEO-Georgia of The PrivateBank and Trust Company in Atlanta, where, after the sale of Piedmont Bank of Georgia to Private Bancorp, he retained the position of Chairman and CEO for The PrivateBank and Trust. He was responsible for all aspects of this $350 million banking division. From 2001 to 2006, Brian was founding President/CEO of Piedmont Bank of Georgia, in Atlanta, where he boldly established an entity to organize the new bank charter just days after the terror attacks of 9/11. He assembled a group that raised $13.5 million of capital and opened the bank in October 2001. Brian grew the bank to $250 million in assets and completed sale to Private Bancorp in December of 2006 for $47 million. Earlier, Brian was Executive Vice President of Premier Bank in Greater Atlanta, where he managed the real estate and SBA Lending divisions of the $2 billion bank holding company.
Rebecca joined SouthCrest Bank in July 2011 and has served as Chief Accounting Officer since September 2012. Prior to joining SouthCrest, Rebecca was a banking partner with Mauldin & Jenkins, CPAs in Atlanta, Georgia where she was involved in and responsible for providing services including financial statement audits, internal control audits under SOX 404 and FDICIA, outsourced internal audits including risk assessments, internal control documentation and compliance testing as well as other business advisory services for non-public as well as SEC registered financial institutions.
D. Andrew Borrmann
Andrew was hired by the Company in 2011 as a Vice President of Finance and is now the Chief Financial Officer. He brings with him thirteen years of financial analysis and economic research throughout multiple industries. Most recently, Senior Analyst of Community Bank Research at Morgan Keegan Financial Services, with a research focus on community banks in the southeast. Prior to Morgan Keegan, he spent seven years at SunTrust Robinson Humphery as both a senior bank analyst and member of SunTrust RH's Quantitative Strategy Group.
Derick Hill joined the bank in July 2013, Derick brings with him over 20 years of operations, process development and project management experience. Working in business ranging from the medical industry to engineering start-ups to high tech global manufacturing organizations, Derick's experience provides a skill set rarely seen in the banking community. Uniquely positioned to face the challenges of the 21st century community bank, Derick offers an “out of the box” perspective to organizational management.
