No Bounce Advantage Overdraft Protection

No one wants to face the embarrassment of having a check returned due to insufficient funds. Now with No Bounce Advantage from SouthCrest Bank, you won’t have to. It’s your personal safety net for those times you run a little short of cash in your checking account.

No Bounce Advantage is offered to our checking customers in good standing (defined as making regular deposits and bringing your account to a positive balance at least once every 30 days). We may honor overdrafts up to your pre-determined limit. There is no charge for this overdraft privilege. If you use No Bounce Advantage, you should remember the bank’s normal insufficient funds (NSF) item charge for each transaction will be deducted from your limit. As in the past, the bank will notify you by mail when an overdraft occurs. No interest will be charged on the overdraft balance. Since checks drawn up to the limit will not be returned, you avoid the expense associated with the merchant’s returned check fee. In this way, the privilege can actually save you money and embarrassment!

You may access your No Bounce Advantage through:

  • Checks and other debits cashed at teller windows
  • MasterMoney Check Card and ATM transactions
  • ACH debit transactions
  • Checks issued to a third party

(Be aware that the balance stated when calling our 24-Hour telephone banking service or accessing Online Banking will not include the your overdraft limit.)

Your No Bounce Advantage Limit is based on the type of checking account you have.

Free Checking      $ 200
Advantage Club   $ 400
Advantage 50 Club   $ 400
Interest Checking   $1000
Money Market Account   $2000

Know your limits. Overdrafts above your established No Bounce Advantage limit may result in a check being returned to the payee.

No Bounce Advantage Customer Policy

An insufficient balance could result in several ways, such as (a) the payment of checks, electronic funds transfers, or other withdrawal requests; (b) payments authorized by you; (c) the return of unpaid items deposited by you; (d) the imposition of bank service charges; or (e) the deposit items which, according to the bank’s Funds Availability Policy, are treated as not yet available or finally paid. We are not obligated to pay any item presented for payment if your account does not contain sufficient funds. However, if you maintain your account in good standing (defined as making regular deposits and bringing your account to a positive balance at least once every 30 days) and there are no legal orders outstanding, we may approve your reasonable overdrafts as a non-contractual courtesy. Normally, we will not approve an overdraft for you in excess of the pre-determined amount assigned to your account type, plus our Non-sufficient Funds (NSF) fee(s). We may refuse to pay an non-sufficient funds item for you at any time, even though we may have previously done so. You will be notified by mail of any non-sufficient funds items paid or returned that you may have; however, we have no obligation to notify you before we pay or return any item. The amount of any overdraft plus our non-sufficient funds fee(s) that you owe us shall be due and payable upon demand. If there is a non-sufficient funds item paid by us on an account with more than one (1) owner on the signature card, each owner, and agent if applicable, drawing / presenting the item, shall be jointly and severally liable for such items, plus our non-sufficient funds fee(s).

You should note that your No Bounce Advantage limit may be included in your available balance provided by a teller and on your ATM receipt, but will not be reflected through Customer Connection, our 24-Hour telephone banking service, or Online Banking.
